Dir en grey Announces Hiatus (IMPORTANT) by Dir en grey on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 9:25pm To all our fans who have followed us and supported us throughout the years: After much consideration and discussion, all 5 members of Dir en grey have decided to take an indefinite hiatus. During this time the band will be taking a break from all concerts and recording. The reason for this hiatus is to allow KYO (vo.) to fully recover from a past illness that has affected his throat and made it difficult to sing. KYO has dealt with this rare throat condition for over a year, but the band’s busy touring and recording schedule hasn’t allowed him the time to fully undergo treatment. He currently plans to spend this year and next year in recovery, and return to the band as soon as possible. Although KYO has undergone treatment, it is not a permanent fix and there is no guarantee as to how long it will last. All 5 members of Dir en grey thank you for your continuing support in these difficult times. Just kidding! But: Tokyohive: DIR EN GREY’s vocalist Kyo has been diagnosed with vocal cord nodule and voice disorder. Consequently, it has been announced that the group’s North American tour, which was supposed to start in March, has been canceled. thx travis! PREDICTION: Toshiya side project in early 2013. Kaoru or Die solo album in late 2013. No new Degworks til summer 2015.

After much consideration and discussion, all 5 members of Dir en grey have decided to take an indefinite hiatus.
