tinker tailor soldier spy (2011)

I have ZERO patience for drab brown ’70s-ness, but this film is FANTASTIC to look at and listen to.

Pretty much every scene feels languorous but is actually very fleet and packed with information — they all end so quickly, you worry maybe you missed something!

There’s no hand-holding, there’s no long dull meaningless stretches like Drive (2011) was full of: every word and shot and facial expression is full of import. Nothing in here wastes your time or energy.

The camera never stops moving, which I love, and the editing and chronology, OMG! It’s like music. It’s the fastest slow movie you’ll ever see.
